Serving up a delicious array of food and fun, TV One's popular series, Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin, returns for a third season with a new time slot, new episodes, special guests, a new cookbook and a whole lot of delicious new recipes. Beginning Sunday, October 8, engaging and enthusiastic host Gerry Garvin will be seen in his new time slot, Sunday nights at 7 PM ET, offering savory recipes using simple techniques that should make cooking a pleasure for even the kitchen novice.  Immediately following, TV One viewers can see all-new episodes of Living It Up with Patti LaBelle in her new timeslot of 7:30 PM ET.

G. Garvin kicks off the season with actor Duane Martin from All of Us, who helps the chef whip up Steak Au Poivre with asparagus and fingerling potatoes, plus ravioli with spinach, mushrooms and goat cheese. Other Garvin episodes this season feature a mouth-watering array of cuisines, including Caribbean, healthy delights, a taste of Africa, food from his mama's kitchen, and Sunday dinner. He also will showcase elegant entertaining with a visit from event planner to the stars Diann Valentine.

Viewers can also head into the kitchen with G. Garvin as he shares more than 200 of his favorite recipes - from everyday classics to dazzling showstoppers -- in his first cookbook, Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin (Meredith Books, $19.95, October 10, 2006). With his principle of stripping down recipes to their bare essentials, G. Garvin demonstrates how to cook for family and friends with maximum flavor and minimal effort.  G. Garvin "turns up the heat" on the culinary experience, and features a wide range of recipes both traditional and non-traditional in African American households.

Patti LaBelle kicks off her new episodes in style, taking viewers to the star-studded premiere of the recent Outkast movie Idlewild. LaBelle, who makes an appearance in Idlewild, also interviews the movie's choreographer and Tony Award winning actor Hinton Battle. In other upcoming episodes, she takes viewers through her experience on the summer reality series Celebrity Duets, where she belts out a tune with "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" personality Jai Rodriguez.
